Everything We Know So Far About Mike Tyson‘s Cannabis Resort

Find out what Tyson is planning in the California desert

While you may not immediately associate Mike Tyson with weed, the boxing heavyweight legend is actually a well-known advocate of cannabis. He’s been smoking it for years, and more recently, he broke ground for his Tyson Ranch cannabis resort on 418 acres in the desert of California.

This is just his most recent cannabis venture, and one of many. In 2016 he created Tyson Holistic, a cannabis company that runs various cannabis-related businesses. This is what Tyson does now after retiring from boxing. Why? He has a passion for weed that he wants to share with the world.

After decades of fighting and multiple surgeries, Tyson has turned to marijuana to relieve pain and calm his nerves. He is now a firm believer in the benefits of marijuana. And he has become a key figure in furthering cannabis research and development. According to Tyson, he’s also an ardent consumer. He’s mentioned publicly that he and his cohorts smoke around $40,000 worth of weed a month.

A Cannabis Resort to Eclipse all Other Weed Resorts

Mike Tyson’s weed ranch isn’t going to be just any kind of weed ranch. Plans include a hotel, an area for glamping, spas, and more importantly, the world’s longest lazy river. According to GQ magazine, it will take an hour to float it from start to finish. There will also be an amphitheater for hosting concerts. Tyson’s Kind Music Festival will be hosted there, where concert-goers can openly smoke while enjoying good music.

But before you start thinking this is Tyson’s version of Coachella, there are plans to make the Tyson Ranch resort an educational venue as well. He’s included plans for Tyson University. Here, cultivators can take courses and learn about techniques from qualified experts.

In fact, the marijuana resort is meant to be a place to relax, learn, while smoking lots of weed or enjoy some edibles. So you will not have to make your own edibles while on holiday. The focus will be on health and wellness. Tyson told Cannabis Tech Today, “I’ve been fighting for over 20 years, and my body has a lot of wear and tear. I had two surgeries and I used marijuana to calm my nerves, and it would take the pain away… But before, they had me on those opiate sounds, and those opiates had me all screwed up.”

He plans to use his cannabis resort to help patients reduce their dependence on opiates by reducing the stigma surrounding marijuana. “Cannabis is the future and eventually everyone is going to have to give in,” he said.

The cannabis resort won’t be growing it’s own marijuana, but will instead partner with growers to sell on resort grounds. The ranch will emphasize educating the public on how to effectively grow and sell weed, and how to heal with it. But if you’re purely looking for a luxury cannabis experience and you don’t care so much about gaining an education, well, Tyson Ranch will be able to provide that, too.

Where is Tyson Ranch?

So, where is this glorious, cannabis resort going to be? GQ magazine reported that Tyson’s 400+ acre property is in Desert Hot Springs, which is adjacent to Palm Springs, California. This vast desert location isn’t exactly remote. It’s near some golf courses and local amenities, so a trip to Mike Tyson’s ranch won’t be too far off the beaten path.

The location makes it an attractive option for outdoor music festivals and retreats. It will prove practical for providing educational cannabis resources. It also bodes well for having the ability to allow guests to smoke as much weed as they like unbothered.

When can we Book Tyson Ranch Resort?

So far, Tyson hasn’t advertised a date for when the new resort will be finished, much less an opening date for booking reservations. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get in on the Tyson Ranch hype right now. A visit to the Tyson Ranch website will give you more info and updates on his soon to be weed resort.
