We know Canada is a country full of kind people who are always apologizing, BUT what they should not apologize for in any way, shape or form is the infamous: Butter tarts! We wonder what they would think of our new and improved recipe featuring weed?

We can almost guarantee that when you sink your teeth into their crumbly crust and gooey sweet filling you’ll fall in love and it will be hard to stop at just one!

Up until now, butter tarts normally have pecans and walnuts sprinkled on top – but you know us here at Cannadish! We’re always up-leveling and adding Cannabis to our tarts, heck yes we are and you’re going to love them.

Our recipe is below, but before you scroll might we suggest adding weed-whipped cream to the top of your Cannabis butter tarts? Do we have you drooling now?

This delicious recipe has an extra added secret ( now not-so-secret) infusion of homemade cannabutter. Just note that the dosage will depend on the potency of your ingredients as well as the individual serving size.

If serving these desserts at a party, always be sure to label cannabis-infused foods to prevent accidental consumption.

Cannabutter in Your Tarts

Cannabutter is a simple Cannabis infusion that combines butter and weed.

Cannabutter is velvety smooth and highly tasty- once you’ve made it once, you’ll be hooked! It’s especially tasty in Cannabis Butter Tarts because these bite-sized babies pack a punch of sweetness, and the feeling when they kick in? Even sweeter!

Cannabis-Infused Whipped Cream

If you’re making these sweet little tarts, you might as well keep going in the decadence department and create your own homemade Cannabis-infused whipped cream!

You’ll need to prepare this ahead of time, and we encourage large amounts of it on every single tart!

Equipment

  • Food Processor
  • Large Bowls ( 2-3)
  • Spatula
  • Whisk
  • Muffin Tins

Ingredients

  • 500 ml all-purpose flour
  • 125 ml butter
  • 125 ml cold water

Filling

  • 60 ml Cannabutter
  • 60 ml browon sugar
  • 125 ml corn syrup
  • 10 ml vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2.5 ml salt

Instructions

PIE DOUGH

  • In a food processor mix flour and butter until incorporated.
  • Slowly add the water until the dough starts to form.
  • Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead.
  • Wrap with plastic and allow to rest for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, rolling from the center, roll the dough until it is about a 1/8-inch thickness.
  • Cut dough with a large circle cutter and add dough circle to a muffin tin.
  • Set full muffin tin aside until butter tart mixture is ready.

TARTS

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • In a medium bowl, mix butter and brown sugar until well incorporated.
  • Add remaining ingredients and mix until all ingredients are well incorporated
  • Add mixture to the dough in the muffin tins.
  • Bake at 350 for 15-17 minutes.
  • When finished, transfer to wire rack and allow butter tarts to cool down.

Equipment

  • Double Boiler
  • Tupperware container
  • Cheese Cloth
  • Teaspoons, Tablespoons & Measuring Cups

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounce cannabis, finely ground
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Heat heavy cream and cannabis in double boiler over medium heat.
  • Simmer for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove the boiler from the heat and let the mixture cool
  • Prepare your Tupperware container by taking 2 sheets of the cheese cloth and securing it over the lid of the container. Check to see if your cream mixture is is cool enough to handle.
  • Pour the cream slowly over the top of the cheesecloth and into the container. Repeat this step as necessary to strain all of the plant material from the cream.
  • After a few minutes pour the cream into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator until cold.
  • Pour the cold cream into a large bowl. Whip the cream until it is thick enough for your tastes.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and sugar gently. Over-beating will result in lumpy whipped cream
  • Serve and enjoy. Keep refrigerated.
