If you didn’t know, Stromboli is a place in Italy. It’s a volcanic island off Sicily’s Northern Coast.

But to find out its origins, stromboli is said to have originated all the way in Philly.

What Is Stromboli?

Stromboli is stuffed bread or dough mostly made with a red tomato sauce, cheese, and stuffing of your choice.

And there are many variations of stromboli to love and enjoy. Today we’re making a buffalo chicken version that is simplified, easy and is nestled in tons of cannabis butter.

How Do I Make Cannabutter?

Easy! Follow our step-by-step recipe and instructions below to make the best cannabis butter you’ve ever tasted.

If you’ve read any of my other articles, you know I’m a huge advocate of making double batches of edibles like butter and oils so that you can freeze them, and use them for months.

Always label your edibles too – especially if they’re going into the freezer. That way there’s no confusion and if you have kids you can always be safe.

  • 1/4 to 1/2 Ounce Cannabis 
  • 1 cup Butter


  • Decarboxylate your weed by spreading your cannabis evenly on an oven tray And coat with aluminum foil.
  • Place in the oven on 240F/115C for 25 till 45 minutes, and then let it cool.
  • Grind your dry cannabis or chop it till fine.
  • Place the cannabis in a strong mason jar, add butter and (1 tsp of sunflower lecithin)(optional)
  • Place your closed jar in cold water and let it come to a boil, Boil for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Strain your butter through a cheesecloth.
  • Cool down
  • Now you can use the Cannabis Butter (Cannabutter)



If using a mason jar, be sure to start with cold water. Furthermore, it is imperative to let the water cool gradually so that your glass will not shatter.

  • pizza dough – pre-made
  • olive oil or cannabis oil if you prefer – you choose
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozza cheese (grated)
  • Parm cheese (fresh)
  • fresh basil – chopped finely
  • 2-3 breaded Buffalo chicken cutlets – pre-cut & cooked

  • 8 x 11 oven safe pan
  • Cutting Board
  • Shap knife

  • Cheese Grater

  • 1-2 pre-cooked, breaded, Buffalo chicken cutlets sliced into sliver
  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup Mozza cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesean cheese
  • 1/2 cup Fresh basil chopped finely
  • 1/4 cup cannabutter melted

Cannabis Butter Topping

  • 1 tbsp parmesean,oregano,parsely, frehsly minced, garlic EACH
  • 4 tbsp cannnabutter


  • Preheat oven to 400 F, and place parchemnt paper in your pan. Next stretch out the dough to the size of the pan. Drizzle a ltitle olive oil over top lightly.
  • Spread a nice even layer of Ricotta cheese on the bottom. Grate cheese and sprinkle on top evenly, followed by cut buffalo chicken, then parm, and more mozzzarelaa and finally basil.
  • Melt cannabutter in microwave for a few seconds and drizzle overtop.
  • From one end, tightly roll your dough keeping everything inside.
  • Put in the oven for 15 minutes and then in the meantime, make your butter, parm, parsley, garlic mixture by melting cannabutter, and adding in herbs, mixing up generously. After 15 minutes, brush the butter mixture over stromboli.
  • Bake for another 30-40 minutes until perfectly goldenbrown.
  • Let rest for a few minutes, using a sharp knife and cutting board, slice about 1-inch thick pieces. Make sure you have some marinira nearby to dip!
